His mind had pretty much been thinking the same reaction that the boy had said. It would be obvious those thoughts were crossing his mind by the slight raising of his right eyebrow and the quiet 'pfft' that came from his mouth.

The night was cold, icy, frigid. The damp streets began to freeze over, and the dull street lamps cast an odd yellow glow through the fog. Walking with long strides on the sidewalk, a man was sillhouetted, his outline fuzzed in the floating mist. Kain had been tracking a story about mysterious deaths in New York City itself. But what his boss didn't know was that Kain had something to do with the deaths himself.
Kain glanced at the silver moon, pockmarked with craters. He sighed warily, he was tired and was heading toward his hotel right now. New York nights were so unlike Egyptian ones. It was cold to the bone, and a shiver wracked the man's body.
In his wake, a very handsome boy trailed behind him, walking in the same, self-assured stride. The boy suddenly laughed jauntily, "Ha! What a night! So, where are we goin' Kainy boy?"
Kain glared at the boy, "Shut up. Don't talk to me like that."
The boy gave him a withered look, "Oh, don't be like that, Kainy. Besides, you should cut me some slack, as I'm in your service as your slave and all."
"If you must know, we're going back to the hotel."
"Oh, tired already? I smell a fight nearby."
Kain sighed again, "No, last time you smelled a fight, it was two dogs arguing over a bag of popcorn."
"So?" The boy's eyes twinkled, "You need to feed, anyhow. I bet blood lust is acting up right now, eh? I bet you're interested that I smell human mingled with demon mingled with vampire. Ha! I bet you haven't tasted vampire in a long time."
The lycan gritted his teeth, "I said don't push it, Harkoth."
"Ohhh," Harkoth said, deflated, "But look! They're over there! Fighting! Lets go see! C'mon!" The djinn's boy form melted away and he became a monstrous basilisk crossed with a rooster. He was as tall as the second floor in an apartment building. His voice became deep and raspy, "I look more fearsome this way, don't you think?"
Voices rang through the fog, distorted, "Silver bullets?" and then a laugh. Kain frowned and thought darkly, 'This could get messy.'

Fern snesed 2 more men nearby. One had a blood lust and the other.....hard to tell. Turning back to Paul and the other man she felt stupid. Why did she say silver bullets? Oh well by the time she was done with them they wouldn't be alive. Her lips curling in hatred she liked that thought. Sweat rolled doen her face and she was heaving although she was quite glad that the man had hit her. It gave her time to relax and regain her streangth.

Things were going too slow for his liking, much too slow. Swiftly he launched a kick towards the girl's arm, hoping to dislodge the gun from her hand as it could prove to be a major nuisance. Whilst in mid air, he redrew his sword.

Dodging the kick and sword Fren flipped off the roof and landed on a man or should I say werewolf. She scramble up quickly before Paul could do anything. "Sorry sir! Running for my life here!" She called behind her.

He grumbled agrivatedly, this was getting tiresome and he was getting off track. He took a few seconds to reorder his agenda and come up with a proper plan. Swiftly he somersaulted off the roof and pelted after the girl, ignoring anyone else.

Dodging the kick and sword Fren flipped off the roof and landed on a man or should I say werewolf. She scramble up quickly before Paul could do anything. "Sorry sir! Running for my life here!" She called behind her. Kain winced slightly as the girl fell on him. Naturally, he would have broken something from the impact, but as a lycan, his frame was genetically improved. The girl called out some words he didn't really catch, and he ran toward her and grabbed her wrist.
He could feel her pulse on her wrist, and his brain gave a pulse of pain. He fought for control against the bloodlust, he really didn't like hurting people.
Horkath, the large monstrous creature, spoke for his master, "Ya need help, girlie-girl? I mean look at me, I could crush whoever you're running from!" He stretched his basalisk-head and looked at her with his eerie yellow eyes, "You ever see someone as strong as me before, eh?"

Fren shook her head and pointed at Paul on the roof. "Kill him! Here!" She threw him a wooden stake. "Use this if ya want to help!" She ran around the garbage dumpster seeing if the man would end her troubles.

He noticed the girl dash behind the rubbish and was about to close in on her, about to... but he did not. He had also noticed the thing standing in front of him, even for he, who had seen many terrifying things (that he had not been the cause of), found the sight a little daunting. Still, appearances can be decieving.

Calmly, Horkath approached the man. He said in his deep voice, almost regally, "Well. Paul, whatever your name is." He leveled his yellow eyes with Paul's. The amber, cat-like eyes were almost as big as the man's head, "Well, don't just blink at me like a half-wit, do something? You want me to roar at you, is that it? Or do you just want to stare at my gorgeous, humungous, and exceptionally strong frame while I dance on you and crush you to bits?" Horkath smiled, thoroughly enjoying himself, but then his basalisk's form melted away and he became young da Vinci again, "Though I do like fighting like this, human-form to human-form, eh, demon/vampire, whatever you are?"
Kain stepped in, "Enough, Horkath, don't... I can't stand the smell of battle, I've got to kill something."
Horkath shrugged jauntily, "Then kill that girl or this... Paul... guy... C'mon, I want some excitement! Give him the ol' one-two, partner."
"You are not," Kain hissed, "my partner. Get me the hell out of here before I do some real damage." His voice was wobbling, his bubble of control collapsing, and his frame became gruesomely wolf-like as he launched himself at the person in front of him. Paul.
Behind his master, Horkath gave a giggle of excitment as he advanced on Fern, addressing her, "You didn't think we'd actually help you, did you girl? Because I really need to kill something, and Kainy didn't command me not to hurt you so therefore..."

Paul felt a twinge of fury at the creature, how dare it speak to him in such a way? He quickly controlled his anger and began the first part of the motion of taking a swing at its neck. Mid-slash he halted his blade, sensing someone else trying to attack him. Quickly he changed the sword's course, slashing towards the wolf.

"New York, where nobody knows anything." Hickoy grumbled, walking down an alley. " 'Ello miss." she said, looking at Fren. She walked past Paul and Horkath. She sighed. It always had to be violent around here. She was ready to leave.

Antionette walked silently down the street. She knew she was not supposed to go out alone but thre was a strange painlike hunger gripping her stomach and she wanted to get out of the house with it. She hated being caged up in their house, looking after her little sisters, the twin vampire babes, or doing work. It wasnt her fault she couldnt got to school, she would proberly loose her temper and try and eat a student or something. She always avoided eating anything but animals but sometimes she had a moment of weakness and looked for human. Her mother diddnt know though, Hah! If her mother had known she would be shut in her room for days on end while her mother chanted mad spells at her door. No she diddnt like that. But could you blame this little werewolf for wanting to eat, real, meat? Not at all. She was what she was, and no crummy whitch spell would change her.
She sighed and flared her nostrills at the smell that floated around ont eh street, vampire, wolf, human, demon. She diddnt really care for any of them. But she walked towards them none the less.
Drawing the heavy velvet cloak closer to her thin frame she frowned and yawned tiredly. There was a great many things here. Too many things to coung, her pale gold hair was pushed back by the wind, but not by a concious wind, simply by a stench ridden wind that no mortal would smell. She drew into the shadows, and her sharp dark black brown eyes peered out, as she watched them, and waited. Waited for something exiting for a change.
'Fun fun fun.' She murmered, her thick french accsent changing her words moreso than usual. Hey, why wouldnt they? She was a 9yr old Werewolf out alone with a hunger pain gripping her stomach? And she was bored. Why shouldent she watch?
